Our History

1907

Groen, founded in Wisconsin, is known for high-quality copper kettles and pressure vessels, later pioneering the stainless steel-jacketed kettle.

1919

UNIC founded in Nice, France, recognized as a legendary manufacture of automatic and traditional espresso machines.

1955

Wascator brand is introduced in the American market as Wascomat, focusing on durable, utility-saving laundry solutions.

1963

Crathco founded in Massachusetts, with the goal to enhance the popular beverage market and introduced the industry's first standard double dispenser.

Early 1970’s

Groen and a major packaging film manufacturer developed CapKold – a sous vide and cook-chill system designed to address the delicate balance between food production and demand.

1973

Avtec, founded in Illinois, is known for outstanding commercial ventilation systems and bringing the Utility Distribution System to the foodservice industry.

1975

Randell, founded in Michigan, is the refrigeration expert known for the best fitting, high-performance refrigeration for your specific kitchen.

1987

Power Soak, founded in Missouri, known for innovative commercial warewashing systems that provide the most reliable cleaning and sanitization of cookware, flatware, produce and proteins in the marketplace today.

1989

Electrolux Professional business area within the Electrolux Group is established, integrating all the professional foodservice, laundry, commercial refrigeration and cleaning activities that had been acquired throughout the years.

2003

Shanghai Veetsan Commercial Machinery, founded in China, grew to be one of the largest manufacturers of professional dishwashers in China.

2008

Kelvinator Commercial becomes a standalone brand, delivering commercial refrigerators and freezers derived from home appliance products.

2015

Electrolux Professional acquires Veetsan, strengthening the company’s position in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

2018

Crathco joins Electrolux Professional, providing a dominant position within the cold/frozen beverage segment.

2019

UNIC becomes part of Electrolux Professional.

2020

Electrolux Professional spins-off from AB Electrolux and listing on Nasdaq Stockholm.

2021

Unified Brands is acquired, adding Randell, Groen, Power Soak, Avtec and CapKold to Electrolux Professional’s diverse portfolio.

2022

A new operating model was implemented from July 1, 2022. Within the two reportable segments – Food & Beverage and Laundry – five new Business Areas were added, focusing on customer categories and geographies.
